An emotional suprise propsal in yosemite national park
Imagine, saying YES, to the love of your life with Half Dome, El Cap, Bridalveil Falls, Sentinel Dome, Cathedral Rocks as your witnesses…In your favorite place with your favorite person.
Ardy reached out a few months before the big day! He wanted to surprise his long-distance girlfriend Fefe with a beautiful surprise proposal in their favorite place, Yosemite National Park. He let me know that her family would be there as well, so his idea was to tell Fefe that they would just be taking “family photos”. This way she would have a heads up about photos, but not know the entirety of the shoot.
We hopped on a zoom call and planned out the locations we would visit. I showed him an exclusive PDF that only clients get access to, with example photos highlighting the season (winter) and what his photos would look/feel like. He picked out the locations he liked, we set up the time, I sent him google pins of the location, and we waited for the special day!
When the day finally came, I left my house early than needed to because you can never be too prepared, even if you are three hours early, haha! I have such a fear of being late! If you are on time, you are late.
I met Ardy, Fefe, and her family in the parking lot. We chatted for a few moments as they got ready.
FINALLY, after all the anticipation, it was time for photos. I started with their family portraits. After getting different variations of photos with Fefe’s family members. As I was taking their photos, I found a perfect sun flare peaking through the trees. I decided now was the time because of the PERFECT lighting. Having perfect lighting and natural looking skin tones was a request from Ardy, so I made SURE that I selected the best time and spot for their big moment.
I directed a few casual photos for them to warm up, but they really did not need to warm up. Their love for one another shinned through each photograph. They have a type of love that doesn’t need silly/cringe posing, their love speaks for itself. Not to mention Fefe’s million dollar smile, that can make anyone around smile as well. I observed how Fefe made Ardy feel relaxed and calm and how Ardy made Fefe feel giddy and safe.
