An Intimate Yosemite suprise propsal

A significant other looking for the ultimate Yosemite proposal and experience? Look no further!

After months of behind-the-scenes planning with Sid, we were able to completely surprise Nidhi with the most intimate, surprise proposal in Yosemite National Park. To not only see, but truly capture the excitement that Nidhi had in that moment, is the reason why I love being a photographer. Read more of their story below!

Since he wanted this moment to be a COMPLETE suprsie, it took extra planning to make sure they RECEIVED the ULTIMATE YOSEMITE EXPERIENCE.

Prior to the propsal, I told Sid which parking lot I would be in and what color by car was. When he drove up, he spotted me and my car. He parked a few spots down from me and gave me a nod.

The anticipation was SO real.  I then headed to the board walk of Cooks Meadow Loop. I waited a few minutes pretending that I was photographing the beautiful landscape views.  FINALLY, I saw S + N walk past me. I quickly was in stance and ready to photograph their BIG moment!

My finger was trigger happy as I photographed Sid getting on one knee asking Nidhi to be his forever. She was completely surprised! To see Nidhi smiling from ear to ear as she leaped for joy was such a beautiful memory. It was in that moment that I KNEW we pulled off a perfect surprise Yosemite proposal!

After the proposal, we spent the rest of the day exploring different parts of Yosemite Valley. below above is more of cooks meadow loop, lower yosemite falls, and swinging bridge.I love love love the half dome frames.

Although this was the first time meeting them in person, it felt as if the three of us were old friends and reconnecting in our favorite place. I truly believe that the magic of Yosemite brings people together. Not only is Yosemite the best place to propse, it is the BEST place to meet new friends! When my favorite place is also their favorite place it’s an immediate connection, because you just get it, you just feel it.

We ended the day at Tunnel View! There was not ONE bad cloud in the sky. The weather was showing off just for them. If the day could not have gotten any better, the weather/lighting was perfect. Since I am an experienced photographer, I can shoot in any lighting scenarios, but there are definitely times of the day that have nicer sunlight than other times. It is super important to plan your special day around the sun’s time. When working with me, I share my years of knowledge of the park with you, which ALSO includes best times of day for best lighting!

While I LOVE tunnel view I ALWAYS recommend this spot to be a place just for photos, not any intimate moments (unless it’s sunrise). Tunnel View can get VERY busy because it iconic obviously, but also because it is the first big stop driving in from Highway 41. (Coming from Oakhurst/Fresno)

As I drove home from this proposal, I could not stop thinking about how smooth the day went. How happy Sid and Nidhi were. How truly special it is being invited into some of the most intimate times in a person‘s life. This is something that I will never take lightly. It is an absolute honor engrave special moments in a photograph, forever,

Sid & Nidhi, wishing you so much happiness and love during this season of life for you two! I cannot wait to meet up and capture some more of your special moments!

Sending my love,

Ariel <3
