Best Places to Stay in Yosemite National Park

If you are reading this, I am so glad you are here. I hope this guide helps you in some way and that the universe will allow us to cross paths one day.

Until then, here are all my favorite places to stay in AND near Yosemite!

NO TIMED ENTRY RESERVATION NEEDED IF YOU HAVE A LODGING RESERVATION INSIDE THE PARK

  1. Yosemite Valley Lodge 

This location is the most affordable hotel within Yosemite Valley. If you do not want to camp and would rather stay inside a nice hotel, this is the perfect place for you. 

  • In the heart of the valley

  • Walking distance from so many iconic spots in the valley

  • 360 views of the park just from looking outside your window

  • Cell phone reception and Wi-Fi can vary depending on the area

  • Would be perfect for getting ready photos on your big day!

  • Free Shuttles

  • Swimming Pool (summer season)

  • Bike Rentals (summer season)

  • AMAZING STAFF

Food options: 

  • The Mountain Room Restaurant 

  • Base Camp Eatery which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner

  • The Mountain Room Lounge for the best drinks!

  • Starbucks for all your coffee needs.

Yosemite Valley Lodge 10/10

2. Curry Village- Stoneman Cabins

 These cozy cottages are nested right in Curry Village in Yosemite Valley. If you do not want to camp and would rather have a cozy cottage experience, this is the perfect place for you.

3. The Ahwahnee

This historic hotel is nested in the middle of Yosemite, Falls, Glacier Point, and Half Dome. Known for its architecture, this is the perfect place for someone who wants an elegant Yosemite experience.

4. Yosemite West

These are airbnb rentals and are great for larger groups. If you are wanting more of a home like feel, this is the perfect place for you.

  • About 45 mins for Yosemite Valley

Amenities vary based on airbnb host.

5. Camping

  4. Wawona (45 mins from Yosemite Valley)

OUTside OF THE PARK. You may need TIMED ENTRY RESERVATION NEEDED IF THE PARK IF VISITING DURING PEAK SEASON. CHECK YOSEMITE WEBSITE TO SEE IF RESERVATION IS REQUIRED

6. Tenaya Lodge 

This resort is the perfect getaway. It is my favorite place to stay outside of the park. You can select a room, cottage, or explorer cabins. My personal favorite!

  • 8 mins from Yosemite’s south gate

  • 1:10hr from Yosemite Valley/Glacier Point/Taft Point/

  • Ascent Spa: enjoy the spa after a long day of hiking

  • Indoor AND outdoor pool

  • Game room

  • Fitness room

  • Two gift shops

8.Yosemite View Lodge

This hotel is 8mi from Yosemite’s west gate.

  • 35 mins from Yosemite Valley

  • Along the Merced River

  • Swimming pools

  • Picnic Area

  • Game Room

  • Wifi is an additional $10 per 24 hours

  • Little to no cell service 

  • Gift shop

Food options: 

  • The River Restaurant & Lounge


Just to clarify, Tenaya Lodge and Yosemite View Lodge are NOT inside the park. There is still a drive to explore some of the iconic locations within the park. If timed entry reservations are required to enter into the park, these hotels will NOT serve as your ticket. You have to stay INSIDE the park for your lodging reservation to serve as your entry reservation. CHECK YOSEMITE WEBSITE TO SEE IF RESERVATION IS REQUIRED.
