Unique Sequoia Wedding: Magical Elopement Moments

As a Sequoia National Park Wedding Photographer, I get to help couples experience the magic of this beautiful place while capturing their most intimate moments. There’s something truly magical about Sequoia National Park that makes it the perfect place for a wedding!! I had the honor of planning and photographing a stunning wedding in this otherworldly place! From start to finish, this was PERFECT!  If you look for “perfect” in an old dictionary, rumor has it you’ll find this magical day in the description! ;)

Starting the Day Right: A Sunrise First Look at Beetle Rock

We started off our adventure before the sun was up to beat the crowds! Denae and Miguel had their sunrise first look at Beetle Rock! The sky was like a painter’s palette…soft pinks, oranges, and purples as the sun rose over the horizon. There was a quiet, intimate feeling in the air as they saw each other for the first time that morning. You could feel the emotion in the air, tears, laughter, and ALL the feels!! It's moments like this that remind me why I love being a Sequoia National Park Wedding Photographer. Getting to capture moments like this…there’s nothing like it.

Chasing Views at Hanging Rock: A Dreamy Moment in the Vistas

After their emotional first look, we made our way to Hanging Rock. This location is a hidden gem and a favorite of mine! Want jaw-dropping views of the park without a crowd? Here ya go! Literally, just over the edge is a 6,800 feet drop. It will leave you breathless with a thrill! Let me tell you, the views did not disappoint. With the Sequoias towering over us and the endless mountains in the distance, it was a perfect moment. (If you don’t believe me look it up in the dictionary, I’m telling ya!!) But the best part? It was just us. No one else was around. The peace and quiet of the park really played a vital role in the intimacy of the day. At one point the couple joked about how amazing it must be to be a Sequoia National Park Wedding Photographer and how they might have to look into it!

Moro Rock Magic: Just Us and the Whole Park to Ourselves

Now, here’s where the day got EXTRA special! We hiked up to Moro Rock, one of the most well known spots in the park. And when we got there? It was just us!! No crowds, no tourists, nothing but two lovers and the breathtaking views. The couple joked that I had "closed the park" just for them, and it was an ongoing joke throughout the entire day!  But really, it was all about perfect timing. As a Sequoia National Park Wedding and Elopement Photographer I know how to work the park’s crowds, so we had the entire spot to ourselves. It felt like the whole giant forest was theirs for the day- an exclusive, intimate escape in the heart of nature saying I DO.

Forest Fairytale at Auto Log: Dreamy Sequoia Wedding Portraits

After taking in the views at Moro Rock, we headed down to Auto Log for some dreamy, forest-inspired portraits! Surrounded by the towering, ancient sequoias and golden sunlight filtering through the trees, it was a true “fairytale” moment. The couple looked absolutely stunning, and the forest provided the perfect views for their love. I am telling ya, look it up in the dictionary!

Ending the Day with a Sweet Cake Cutting in the Giant Forest

We wrapped up the day at the Giant Forest Museum, where the couple had their own personal cake cutting. Even though they wanted a unique and non-traditional wedding, they still wanted to include some classic moments, like the cake cutting! And honestly, it’s your day! Whether you want to do something traditional or completely offbeat, it’s about what feels right for you. Let me tell you, cutting that cake in the heart of the forest felt just perfect. After some mild hiking, we were rewarded with the yummiest cake from a local baker!
